This blog is about one girl (me), one "rescue" horse (Alice), and how I am working on making her my dream horse.

What does Alice eat?
Well, Alice eats mainly Nutrena Life Design Compete mixed with cracked corn and oats. We also got her some nicker treats and some apple bites at Tractor Supply (she really loves them), and she does nicker a lot!!! She also eats hay and as much grass as she wants.
Rain Rot? Now what do we do....
So Alice had a pretty bad case of rain rot when we got her. So here is what we are doing to clear it up.We are treating her every 3 days with a shampo and a oitment. We are using Horseman's Dream Medicated Aloe Dine 600 Iodine Shampoo with Aloe Vera. The oitment we used was Pierce's All Purpose Nu-stock. The Pierc's All Purpose Nu-stock did not work as well as we wanted it to it worked all right at first but it was alittle to pasty for us to use and we had a hard time washing it out of her coat when it came the 3 days to wash it out.We stopped using the Pierc's All Purpose Nu-stock not because it didnt work well but because it did but it was just to much work to scrub her to get it out witch it kind of irritated her when we did,so we just decided to just use the Horseman's Dream Medicated Aloe Dine 600 Iodine Shampoo with Aloe Vera.

Alice from all angles...
This is just a post for some advice on what may be making Alice have a clicking sound in her back left leg. We have taken photos from all angles to give a better idea what kind of shape she is in. Please keep in mind that we haven't even had her a month yet. She seems to favor the leg a bit and tends to carry it a little on the stiff side and when we tried to get a photo of her bottom of her hoof she would not hold it up long enough.
Just so you all know the splotchy stuff all over her back and sides is just her rain rot treatment.
We are also adding a video (see below) so that you can hear the sound that she makes when she walks. Sorry that it is sideways, we couldn't get it turned. Also sorry for the background noises.

Who is Alice?
Well, Alice is my mid teen,Thoroughbred mare with a sorrel colored coat and mane with white socks and a white stripe that goes the whole way from her forehead to her nose . We recently purchased her from somebody who didn't have the money to care for her. She is a very mellow and sweet horse who needed love and care. She is a little underweight but we are working to make her as healthy as possible witch she is already looking a lot better then when we first got her.
